This week we are learning to share our facts about dinosaurs with others. We have a dinosaur egg in the Unit - which is terribly exciting - or should it be egg-citing? It is definitiely beginning to crack.
The children will be consolidating their phonic learning so far and will be using their skills to write a fact about dinosaurs.
In Maths we are working on 1 more and 1 less than a given number.
It is Intenet Safety day on Tuesday. We will be discussing safer internet use with our children.
We have been listening to Winter Stories and talking about winter clothing as well as changes outside. We realise how our breath heats up in the frost - we called it Dragon Breath! The children have started dancing to Jack Frost , 'let's move' program, its been really popular.
Its been a fantastic and busy time. We have loved all the support that our families have given us, coming to see the Christmas Performance, the Craft afternoon, the Christmas Fair and finally making sure that the children all enjoyed seeing Santa for the Christmas Party. We hope everyone has a well deserved rest.
We have been learning about different types of festivals and celebrations. The children shared their knowledge about Remembrance Day, we enjoyed some different activities, such as painting poppies and making red icing covered biscuits. The children have also learned about Divali, listening to the story of Rama and Sita as well as creating Diva lamps and dancing to Bhangra Music BBC i-player has some very good information about Divali and we looked at a Hindu family celebrating their Festival of Lights.
The children have had a happy two days back at school. All of the children have settled really quickly and we are very proud of them.
We appreciate it is often difficult to speak to staff when we are busy with the children, especially at the end of the day, but please be assured that we are always happy to talk to you. At the end of the day simply wait until we have made sure all of the children are safe and we will be free to chat. Alternatively, please leave a message with the office to let us know you want to talk to us and someone will call you at a convenient time.
Some of the children have been spending time in our new unit. They have settled really well and are enjoying having a special place all of their own. The staff love it too!
If you haven't seen it yet and would like to see inside, just ask a member of staff who will be pleased to let you have a look.
